
About Mina Ivanova
Dr. Mina Ivanova started piano and solfège lessons at an early age, and then she was admitted and graduated with full honors National School of Music “Lyubomir Pipkov”-Sofia, Bulgaria, likewise the Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, majoring in Piano and Chamber Music.
In her academic journey, she took the best from the great teachers Anna Ilievska, Prof. Emma Bozhinova, Prof. Lyuba Encheva and Prof. Nikolay Evrov. From the Institute for Teacher Improvement at the "St. Kliment Ohridski" received the degree "Teacher with first class- qualification".
Master classes and competitions around Europe followed. Among them are "Città di Salerno" - Italy - prize-winner, Teeside International Music Festival - UK - audience vote , "Svetoslav Obretenov" - Bulgaria, Premier accessite at the Concours Musical de France, Paris.
Dr. Mina Ivanova was a member of the jury of national and international competitions such as the Concours Musical de France, the "Ludwig van Beethoven" International Piano Competition of the Goethe Institute, "Yamaha" - Bangkok, Ohrid, etc.
Prof. Ludwig Hoffmann from Munich Conservatory had an exceptional influence on her, by whom she was twice selected as an active participant at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" - Weimar, Germany.
She visited Mannes college, New York City, Sidney Conservatorium, Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, Ramallah, etc.
Her teaching titles include Senior Teacher at National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov"- Sofia, as well as Senior Lecturer at Assumption University of Thailand.
Scientific works
The essence of pianism, from a practical, scientific and philosophical point of view, provoked Mina Ivanova to develop her doctoral dissertation "The Holistic Approach and the Contribution of the Bulgarian Piano School to Piano Education". With it, she received the scientific and educational degree "Doctor of Musical Sciences and Musical Art" at the New Bulgarian University”, under the supervision of Prof. Milena Mollova.
Her academic pursuits don't stop there. She is the author of publications such as the book "Music and Holism", participated in presentations at international scientific conferences with "The Art of Scales in the Methodology of Piano Education" (INTE-2015, Barcelona, Spain), at SMEI (Annual Conference 2015, DIT , Dublin, Ireland), "Congruence of Intent and Means in Pianism" (INTE-2016, Vienna, Austria), "Meaning, Organization and Maintenance of the Repertoire" (VII International Conference at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, USA), "Vision for the methodology of teaching" (ICLEL-2017, Escola Superior de Educação, Porto, Portugal), gives lectures at NBU, DMA "Pancho Vladigerov", etc.
She is currently working on the treatise "The Nature of the Motion in Pianism".
Mina Ivanova is also a member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria.
Concert activity
And yet, the great passion of Dr. Mina Ivanova remains the stage and the touch with the audience. As a soloist, chamber keyboardist and accompanist, she gives recitals and concerts with an orchestra in various countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Distinguished participations with her presence take place in Japan, China, Singapore, Egypt, Italy, Hungary, Greece, Lebanon, Spain, Vietnam, Finland, Jordan and of course - Bulgaria.
Her piano mastery is influenced by her excellent knowledge of the eras, work and life of a huge range of authors with whom Mina Ivanova works. From baroque to jazz, no style is foreign for her technique and musical sense. An integral part of Mina Ivanova's regular repertoire includes F. Liszt's Sonata in B minor, Sonata Op. 111 of L.V. Beethoven, Concerto in D minor by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart's Concerto No. 23, K488, "Pictures from an Exhibition" by M. Mussorgsky, "Rhapsody Vardar" by P. Vladigerov, etc.
